TECHNICAL INFORMATION
What Web Browser should I use?
Online Banking was designed to function best with Netscape Navigator 4.08 / Netscape
Communicator 4.7; as well as, Windows Internet Explorer 4.01 (Service Pack 1) and version 5.0
- To date, newer versions of these browsers have performed well.
- Users of the various browser competitors (AOL, CompuServe, etc.) have reportedŌ
successful access to Online Banking.
Return to Questions
How much encryption is required?
The Online Banking system requires a browser with a minimum of '40 bit' encryption capability.
Our Internet Cash Management for businesses requires 'High 128 bit' encryption. (encryption
capability - a.k.a., cipher strength)
Return to Questions
Is it okay to have my Cookies disabled?
In order to use Online Banking, 'Cookies' must be enabled for proper operation.
No information is transferred from your computer to ours; gathered during the normal
course of transactions; nor is passed on to any other individual or organization.
Return to Questions
Does Online Banking work on a Macintosh Computer?
Even though our banking software was written for IBM / PC compatible computers, a small
number of Mac Users have had success accessing Online Banking using the Netscape Navigator
browser version 4.7. To date, no favorable reports have been received regarding a Mac User
attempting to access Online Banking with the Windows Internet Explorer browser.
Return to Questions
Do I have to clear (empty) my PC's cache after each Online Banking session?
Clearing your cache is advisable; although, it is solely your choice. When a Web page
contains sensitive information; such as your financial transactions, you may not wish
to keep stored copies around. If you choose 'not' to empty your cache, another person
could view your account information simply by viewing the cached pages on your computer --
even after you have disconnected from the Online Banking system.
Fortunately, it's easy to empty your browser's cache memory. Access your browser's Help
Menu to assist you in emptying your cache memory and / or disk cache.

I made a Line of Credit payment from my Checking Account. Why hasn't the Due
Date changed to next month?
Lines of Credit are unique in structure and information posting. Because
of this structure, they do not update in the same manner as a standard
Installment Loan. When viewing ¹this type÷ of account; recent payments
'will not' immediately affect two table entries 'Current Amount Due'
and 'Date Next Payment is Due'. Rest assuredSthese table entries will
be updated, providing ample time to create your next payment well before
the due date.
Line of Credit -- also known as: Instaline; Over Draft Protection; or Open End Line
of Credit (OEL)

BILLPAY
I signed up for Online Banking. After I select 'Transfers and
Payments', then follow the links leading me to the BillPay site, my
Online Banking User ID and Password do not work -- why?
Even though our customers access CheckFree's Web BillPay Service from

requires separate enrollment. Upon Service activation, a unique User
ID and Password will be established with CheckFree.

'Transfers and Payments' toolbutton.

enrollment form'.

- Follow the guiding prompts to complete the enrollment process -- upon
CheckFree acceptance; subscribers may immediately begin setting up Payees and
making payments.
* Acceptance or denial will occur during the online enrollment session
-- per CheckFree.
Return to Questions
Why does CheckFree's Home Page offer FREE Bill Payment, yet Farmers charges
$6.00 for the Service when I access it through Online Banking?
CheckFree's Home Page offering is different from the BillPay Service accessed from within Online Banking.
Customers signing up for CheckFree's Free Service are only permitted to create payments' destine for
companies listed in the Service's 'Payee List.' The Payee List consists of company names which 'participate'
with CheckFree (bound by contract). Participating companies provide 'E-Bills', through CheckFree, to their
customers -- 'paper bills' are not mailed.
CheckFree does offer a 'Pay Anyone' program for $12.95 per month.
'Pay Anyone' defined: Service subscribers can pay whomever they want . . . whether it's a local utility, paper boy,
or their child's allowance while away at school. The Payee (receiver) does not have to be in
the CheckFree's list of 'Participating Companies'.
Farmers has a special contract with CheckFree, which enables our patrons to access the Pay Anyone Service for
$6.00 per month -- barring any promotional trial periods.
Important FYI's:
- CheckFree's Home Page and Login Page are 'totally different' from CheckFree pages accessed from within
Farmers Online Banking product.
- A customer which has subscribed and is currently accessing the BillPay Service from within Farmers Online
Banking 'may not use' their User ID and Password to access Farmers÷ Pay Anyone Program
through CheckFree's independent site.
